A Thank You to Cindy

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

Good Morning Cindy,

I am finally coming up for air, the last of my house guests left yesterday, so I have some time to reflect on how things went at the wedding.

We are overwhelmed at how wonderfully everything came together and you and your team played a huge part.  The food was delicious and beautiful.  Your staff was awesome.  There were several things I saw that I felt were above and beyond what I had expected of them.  They pitched in where ever they saw a need.  They were polite, friendly and most of all helpful, I really just can’t say enough about how pleased I am.

To you especially, thank you for your patience and hard work.  You understood the atmosphere we were trying to create and you made it work beautifully!

If I can ever be a reference, I would be happy to share our fantastic experience.

Words of Thanks from IU Health

Wednesday, February 9th, 2011

Mary,

I just had a moment to open up the letter of thanks you sent. I will certainly share with the staff and couldn’t help but notice how well written, eloquent and sincere your words were.

We simply couldn’t have had the success we did without the expertise of you and your staff.  As we tackle this monumental shift to Indiana University Health and to providing pre-eminent care to our patients, families and to one another internally, vendors like MBP are invaluable to our progressive evolution.

You and your team dealt with pressuring deadlines, drastic changes and long days all without blinking a doubtful eye. Your efforts were both noted and remembered.  I’m assured that if I looked “Can do attitude” up in the dictionary, I may very well find “MBP Distinctive Catering”.

Thank you for your specific mention of Anne-Marie, Dawn and Christin. There is simply no reservation in my mind that I’m surrounded by the most talented workers, but even more importantly, top notch people who have their hearts in the right place. I am continually energized by their passion and expertise in delving through logistics and event management.

Have no doubt that we’ll be seeking you out to continue our working relationship.

My best regards and most sincere thanks,

Laura Gaybrick, MHA

A Note From Lisa Bonacorsi – Event Coordinator

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

“One of my favorite events this season was working with Saks Fifth Avenue in October and helping coordinate a brunch for a group of women to benefit “The Key to the Cure” which is a fundraiser to help benefit breast cancer. Saks Fifth Avenue dedicates the whole month of October to “Key to Cure.” There were breast cancer survivors there as well and it was great to hear their personal stories of success and struggles and how they overcame this disease. Our Chef stamped a “Key to the Cure” logo on their Breakfast Pastries.

It was amazing!!”

Our fun and upbeat Sous Chef is very customer-oriented and is truly passionate about his food. Scott also works very well under pressure. He was so excited to be the featured employee this season that he struck a pose right in the kitchen!

Who We Are by Mary Beth Poe

WHO WE ARE AND WHERE AND WHERE DID WE COME FROM

We are a full service catering company with an amazing team of professionals who cater 80 to 100 wedding receptions each year.  My only regret since starting my business in 1987, that I did not start an album showcasing all of my brides and grooms. It would have been a wonderful memory to have.  MBP Distinctive Catering is privately owned by myself, Mary Beth Poe.

My husband Darryl and I started our business in 1987 which was a restaurant “Darryl’s on the Circle”.  My career began at IUPUI Student Union Building, which involved me in all aspects of the food service business from catering to restaurants to concessions. Prior to that I was in the banking business and working a weekend was unheard of, and then going to the catering business which we work every weekend.  That means you have to love what you are doing.

MOVING ON FROM THE RESTAURANT BUSINESS

After three years of the restaurant business in downtown Indianapolis we soon discovered that the catering business was our joy and we gave up fine dining to focus all of our efforts on the catering business.  We moved to a smaller location and operated a small restaurant serving lunch only allowing us to develop our catering company. Fortunately our catering business did develop to be a great business. We soon moved to our current location which houses our full service catering kitchen, warehouse and office.  Our success has been from our customers and their referrals.  My past customer base was very helpful and before we knew it we were becoming a very successful catering company with a great reputation.

AMAZING STAFF AND FOOD

I am amazed with my staff.  The busier we are the better they are.  On our busiest days they all bond together as a team to get the job done. You can actually see the excitement.  They arrive motivated and leaved motivated and possibly a little tired but still very pleasant and excited that they did a great job. Yes, on busy days there are always obstacles to overcome.  We always have a plan, but as the day progresses we might have to adjust the plan and that is what makes us great.  By the end of the day I always say WOW, what a great job.

Our food is all made from scratch and we provide a wide selection of food along with an infinite number of combinations.  Have a special menu—-we will create it.  Keeping up with the current trends is definitely our goal.  Attending trade shows is one of our favorite ways to keep current.  It is a great learning experience and it also gives us the opportunity to network with other caterers from all areas.

A few comments from our clients……….

As I look back on last week, I have to smile with all the tasty memories MBP provided

A quick note to tell you all went great!  We had a wonderful time, and the food and service really made the evening.  Excellent dinner!

Wow!  What an incredible evening you helped us create.  The food was absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable.

THE REWARD

The reward is when the client says everything was wonderful or it exceeded my expectations.  Our goal is to relieve our client of any stress.  They have hired us as a professional caterer and it is our responsibility to deliver a great event.  It is a joy to meet a new client to discuss their event and gain their confidence.  That is what we do and we do it well. The additional reward is hearing from the client years later and for them to say that our guests are still raving about their reception.

WE ALWAYS LISTEN

When meeting with our clients the key is to listen to their visions and dreams.  As a professional caterer it is our job to implement their visions and advise them based on our knowledge and experience.  Some visions do not always work and that is our job to assist in creating the vision that will work.  Creating trust from a client is everything to us.  Our goal is to relieve all the stress from our clients.  We want them to enjoy their day from the beginning to the end.

AND THAT IS WHY MBP IS A GREAT CHOICE FOR YOUR EVENT
